Highlights and secrets of Venice: a family-friendly walking tour

TOUR DESCRIPTION

This family-friendly walking tour is designed for curious minds of all ages — kids, teenagers, and grown-ups who want to explore Venice together, without turning the experience into a game or scavenger hunt.
It’s an orientation walk with several possible itineraries, flexible and tailored to each family’s interests, rhythm, and curiosity.

Through maps, historical images, and visual material, Venice slowly reveals itself: how a city could rise from the water, how it became a great maritime power, and how people have lived here for centuries — and still do today. The storytelling is engaging but never simplistic, perfect for families whose children feel “too grown-up” for games yet still love discovering places together.

We’ll talk about the heroes and legends of the past, but also about the everyday life and challenges of modern Venice, offering a bridge between history and the present.

POSSIBLE COMBOS

Our walking tours usually last around 2 hours, but they can also be shortened to 1 hour when combined with the visit of a church or a museum, making it easy to fit into your Venetian day.

The experience can be enriched in many ways: a visit to a local artisan’s workshop, a mask-making atelier, a gondola ride, a food testing or even an extra hour by water taxi, giving you a unique view of Venice from the water and a deeper sense of the city’s charm.

We can also suggest tailored combinations to suit your interests, such as pairing the tour with a guided exploration of St Mark’s Basilica or other iconic landmarks. This makes the walk not just an orientation, but a memorable introduction to Venice, perfect for families who want to discover both the hidden corners and the highlights.
