Boat tour in the lagoon:

Murano, Burano and Torcello

excursion lagoon Venice

TOUR DESCRIPTION

A boat tour is the ideal way to connect with the Lagoon of Venice and its most famous islands: Murano, Burano, and Torcello. More than a simple body of water, the lagoon is the very reason Venice exists and has shaped its history, culture, and daily life for centuries.

The history of Venice is closely linked to this extraordinary morphological system known as the lagoon, a fragile and fascinating universe shaped by both nature and centuries of human presence. Here, tides, mudflats, canals, and islands create a constantly changing landscape, where time often seems to have stood still. Even today, especially on weekends, locals take out their traditional boats and row in silence, preserving a deep and almost intimate relationship with the lagoon waters.

This guided tour is organized exclusively by private water taxi, a comfortable, fast, and flexible way to explore the islands while enjoying panoramic views and traveling at a relaxed pace. A private boat allows us to adapt the itinerary to your interests, avoid unnecessary waiting times, and fully appreciate the beauty of the lagoon along the way.

If you prefer to explore the islands independently, you may also use the Vaporetto. While significantly slower than a private boat, it is a more affordable option and part of everyday local life. Please note, however, that we do not offer guided tours to the islands using public transportation, as vaporetti are often crowded and waiting times would considerably extend both the tour duration and the guiding service. TOUR DETAILS

🟦 MURANO ISLAND

This excursion usually begins with a stop in Murano, the island of the eternal miracle of glassblowing. Venetian glass masters still pass down, from generation to generation, the secrets of this ancient art. If you wish, in some glass factories it is still possible to watch a glass master at work: it almost feels like magic. The island is filled with souvenir shops as well as remarkable works of art. For those interested in exploring the history of glassmaking in greater depth, the Glass Museum displays an extraordinary collection dating from the 14th to the 19th century. The ancient Church of Santa Maria e Donato is also well worth a visit.

🟨 BURANO ISLAND

The charming island of Burano is usually the second stop, famous for its multicolored houses and its refined lace. Locals, however, often visit Burano to buy the delicious traditional cookies known as bussolai.

🟩 TORCELLO ISLAND

The final stop is the picturesque island of Torcello, now almost deserted but once the cradle of Venetian civilization. Here you will find a few excellent restaurants, an ideal setting for a wedding celebration, as well as the remains of some of the oldest monuments in the lagoon, nestled in lush native vegetation: the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, the first cathedral in Venice, and the Church of Santa Fosca.
