As usual, we’ll share amusing anecdotes by adopting a playful yet informative approach. This one-hour guided visit to St Mark’s Basilica may be preceded or followed by an orientation walking tour, offering a broader introduction to Venice for the whole family.
THE VISIT
St Mark’s Basilica can be visited in different ways, depending on the ticket you choose. We may visit the main body of the Basilica only, or enrich the experience with the magnificent Pala d’Oro, located behind the tomb of Saint Mark and crafted with exquisite enamels and precious gemstones. For those who wish, the tour can also include access to the terrace, offering stunning views over St Mark’s Square and a close encounter with the legendary four horses, considered by some almost magical for their beauty.

Grown-ups, teenagers and kids of any age
The best time to visit the church is between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., when it is beautifully illuminated. St Mark’s Basilica is closed on Sunday mornings and during public holidays.

Tickets must be purchased in advance on the official website of St. Mark’s Basilica, following the link and instructions that we will provide in our final confirmation form.
Your shoulders and knees must be covered (no sleeveless tops, mini-skirts, or very short pants).
Please do not bring large backpacks, as they may be refused by the guards at the entrance (there is no cloakroom).
This tour can be combined with a tour or a Scavenger Hunt such as the one inspired by Marco Polo or in Doge’s Palace or a boat tour along the Grand Canal or an orientation tour.
