TOUR DESCRIPTION
The Doge’s Palace is the perfect place to understand the history of Venice and the unique political system that helped the city remain stable for centuries. We’ll meet at Porta della Carta, the ancient entrance gate, we’ll explore the big courtyard and admire the impressive Giant’s Staircase, watched over by the statues of Mars and Neptune, symbols of Venice’s power on land and at sea. The tour continues through the grand Institutional Rooms, decorated with golden ceilings and famous paintings by Titian, Veronese, and Tintoretto. The visit ends with one of the most emotional moments: crossing the famous Bridge of Sighs to reach the Prisons. Seen from different angles, the Doge’s Palace shows many different sides of Venice—grand, complex, and sometimes surprising. One palace, many stories… which part will stay with you?
