Scavenger Hunt in Marco Polo's footsteps
TOUR DESCRIPTION
This scavenger hunt is designed for kids, but it truly engages the whole family. It works as an orientation tour, offering an excellent introduction to Venice’s main highlights as well as a pleasant overview of a more residential neighbourhood.
We start in St Mark’s Square and then enjoy a lovely walk through the quiet backstreets, off the beaten path, exploring the charming districts of Cannaregio and Castello to discover Venice’s hidden side.
This itinerary allows us to dive into the glorious past of the Serenissima Republic and also talk about real life in today’s Venice. And while the kids are busy with the scavenger hunt, all your questions are more than welcome!
THE GAME
Uncle Ernesto, a renowned explorer, has come up with a playful challenge: to open the mysterious coffer, Lisa and Teo have to solve a riddle about the legendary Marco Polo, the famous globe-trotter and probably the first travel blogger in history: he spent 24 years travelling through the most remote regions of Asia and returned to Venice with countless fascinating stories and treasures.
Let’s explore Venice by following Marco Polo’s incredible adventures and solve all the clues to help Lisa and Teo. They promised that whatever we find inside the coffer will be ours… as long as they win Uncle Ernesto’s challenge!
Ideal for kids aged 5–12 (with a simplified preschooler version for younger siblings), and surprisingly informative even for adults.
