If Venice looks like a fish, the Grand Canal is its fishbone! The locals call it « Canalazzo » and it’s shaped like a big S and it’s simply stunning. A boat tour is an absolute must if you’re a first-time visitor to Venice: your mind boggles over how all these amazing old buildings where noble families live and run their business.

There is a public water bus that goes along the Grand Canal, but if you choose to rent a private water taxi, you’ll get more: a motor launch is small enough to navigate also the fascinating minor canals to see parts of the city that are rarely visited by tourists and to take fantastic pictures comfortably sitting outside and listening to your guide’s commentary.

  Tour duration: 

approx. 1 hour by private motor boat or by public transportation.

  Transportation:

This tour can be organized by water taxi, a very comfortable and fast way to go around that can adapt to your needs, or by vaporetto, much slower but far less expensive.

Water taxi must be paid cash on the spot around €140/hour up to 6 persons (price to be reconfirmed). Please note that the Grand Canal is off limit for private taxi until 3 pm: if you don’t want to use public water bus (vaporetto) this tour must be scheduled in the afternoon.

  Customization

This itinerary can be fully customized at pleasure and combined with a walking tour or a tour in a museum.
